OSI Group, Aurora, Ill., acquired Rose Packing Co., Inc., a Barrington, Ill.-based producer of pork products for foodservice and retail customers.
Rose Packing also operates a Chicago production facility with more than 700 employees.
"This transaction brings together two long-time leaders in the food industry, and we are excited to have Rose join the OSI Group," says Kevin Scott, senior executive vice president, OSI North America. "Strategically, the Rose acquisition complements our existing business and directly supports our growth strategy by providing new processing capabilities, additional capacity and a strong sales presence in attractive channels. Culturally, we share with Rose a deep commitment to our customers to provide them unique, innovative solutions.”
Dwight Stiehl, chief executive officer of Rose Packing, along with his management team, will remain with the company and work with OSI leadership on post-transaction integration.
“I look forward to working closely with OSI as Rose becomes part of the larger OSI Group,” Stiehl says. “This is a great fit because Rose and OSI share a commitment to excellence and the importance of strong business relationships. Between the two organizations, we’re proud to possess more than two centuries of expertise in the meat industry with deep roots in Chicago.”
