Dietz & Watson, Philadelphia, is celebrating its 80th anniversary with the launch of Delishop, a new, limited-time-only pop-up shop experience that will run from May 1 to July 28.
Located at 501 South Street in Philadelphia, the store interior was designed by SHOPHOUSE Design, Philadelphia; built and installed by Wipro Ltd., India; and will feature custom interactive experiences, including a bodega, urban backyard and art installations created by local Philadelphia artists, Gloss Black and Kyle Earl. The company also worked closely with Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P), Philadelphia, to bring the concept to life.
“For our 80th anniversary, we wanted to do something special for our neighbors,” says Lauren Eni, vice president of brand strategy. “Philly plays such a key role in who we are as a brand. We’ve been a part of this community for four generations, since 1939, and this pop-up seemed like the perfect opportunity to celebrate with the people of the city we consider part of our family.”
Delishop will put Dietz & Watson’s signature deli meats on display in new ways, including pre-packaged meats, cheeses and snacks, alongside a collection of deli-inspired fashion and gear.
“This year has been a big one for Dietz & Watson. From the launch of Dietz Nuts to their Real Philly Deli initiative, highlighting the best hometown delis, they continue to find ways to bring people together around great food,” says Steve Red, founder and chief creative officer at RTO+P. “With Delishop, we wanted to build on that great momentum by carving out a space for the brand to actually come alive and connect with people in a completely new way.”
