(Editor's note: this bereavement announcement was sent to R&FF by Aviagen Turkeys on June 30, 2020.)

We are saddened to inform you that Terry Conroy has passed away. We have lost a great friend and a dear family member.

Terry had a long and distinguished career in the turkey industry, working with AgriStats, Cargill and Butterball before joining Aviagen Turkeys in 2012. He had a passion for numbers and “looking at the data”. He liked to say that “Data is data. The data will tell the truth but you might not like it!”.

Terry was a leader in processing plants, performing yield analyses, and improving plant efficiency. He worked with many companies to help them obtain data in order to generate trends, helping us all make better informed, quantitative decisions. Terry made many friends traveling and working in plants all over the world. He never met a stranger and many of us “non-Minnesotans” learned about cheese curds, ice fishing, and ice hockey spending time with Terry.

Terry also had a passion for his family and for the outdoors. He moved back to Minnesota so that he could be close to both and enjoyed sharing stories and pictures of the beautiful lake and land around his home. His love and caring for all of us will be missed.

There will be a small service for the immediate family and they ask that donations be made in lieu of flowers. We will provide more details when they become available. Please keep Terry’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
