TricorBraun Flex, the flexible packaging division of global packaging leader TricorBraun, has launched Biotre 3.0, a fully-compostable, plant-based packaging material. Biotre is a flexible packaging film made from renewable and compostable resources, such as wood and pulp. Available in a range of sizes, Biotre can reduce the amount of packaging in waste disposal because it breaks down naturally in a home composting environment. Biotre also preserves natural resources by reducing the use of fossil fuel and mineral resources.
Two Lamb WestonAlexia brand frozen potato products will now use corn and potato starch in their packaging. The biodegradable bags are partially made of potato starches, a byproduct of producing French fries, and will be identified with a label on the front of the package indicating it is partially made from plants.
There is 75% less plastic in Veroni’s new charcuterie packaging. TAZO announced the newest addition to its ready-to-drink iced tea lineup featuring one of TAZO’s best-selling flavors – CALM, infused with a blend of chamomile, lemongrass, hibiscus and spearmint. The herbal tea is caffeine-free and low in sugar, with only 5g of sugar and 20 calories per 12-ounce serving.
