The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) named Matthew Ott, CAE, the organization’s new President & CEO. Ott will assume his new role on June 1st and succeeds outgoing President & CEO, Corey Rosenbusch who left the Association earlier this year to take the helm as President & CEO of The Fertilizer Institute.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an historic impact on business across multiple industries in a very short time, including the cold food and beverage supply chain. We spoke with Lowell Randel, VP, government and legal affairs at the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) for a snapshot of how the cold chain is adjusting to the new norm, and also to dispel certain myths surrounding the country’s food supply and ability to replenish inventory.
Respondents also reported that they wanted cold chain providers to see themselves as extensions of their brands, as opposed to just service providers.

The global cold chain market is estimated to account for $203.14 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach $293.27 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 7.6%, according to a report released by MarketsandMarkets, New York.
