Boston officials have approved plans for a $70 million seafood processing plant in the city’s marine industrial park, according to a report by The Boston Globe.
Diversified frozen foods processor Rich Products Corporation, Buffalo, N.Y., said it purchased property in Lithonia, Ga., that includes a 189,000-square-foot food manufacturing facility.
Global food equipment and energy technologies supplier GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft, Bochum, Germany, said it expects by mid 2011 to purchase Convenience Food Systems (CFS).
A day after its general announcement, frozen seafood processor High Liner Foods Incorporated, Lunenburg, N.S., said it has plans to acquire Viking Seafoods, Inc.

A leading supplier of foodservice equipment, The Middleby Corp., Elgin, Ill., said it purchased the food processing equipment of Cozzini Inc., Chicago.
