New Organic Valley Lowfat Chocolate Milk hits the shelves in January with a new kid-friendly taste and lactose-free formulation. Organic Valley, the nation’s largest farmer-owned organic cooperative, uses only 100% USDA certified organic ingredients.
After making headlines around the world, the a2 Milk brand has finally arrived in Canada. This 100% Canadian milk carries all the nutritional qualities of regular fresh milk with one important difference; most cows’ milk in stores contain a mix of both A1 and A2 protein types. a2 Milk comes from cows that naturally produce milk with only the A2 protein type, or put the other way, doesn’t contain the A1 protein type.
Lavva, the plant-based foods brand known for its rich Pili nut yogurt, is expanding into the milk alternative industry, which is expected to reach $21.52 billion by 2024. The Lavva Plant Milks will launch nationwide exclusively at Whole Foods Market in September 2020, with Plant Creamer following shortly thereafter in October. New England’s Oakhurst Dairy has released a new, limited-edition flavor to celebrate this fall: Maple Milk. Oakhurst’s new Maple Milk is made with 100% pure maple syrup that Oakhurst is sourcing locally from Bascom Family Farms of New Hampshire, which is a leading independent supplier of pure maple syrup. Bascom Family Farms sources from not only its own taps, but also small family farms in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Weigel’s Convenience Stores announced it will partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee to distribute 60,000 gallons of milk to those in need. The announcement was made today via a press conference held at Weigel’s Corporate office in Powell.
Starting on Monday, June 1, World Milk Day, DFA is encouraging everyone to join them in the Gallons of Good initiative. For every social post sharing what you’re grateful for using #GallonsOfGood during the month of June, DFA will donate $1 to help local food banks purchase milk through the Farmers Feeding Families Fund.
