Dr. Jim Fredericks is vice president of technical and regulatory affairs for the National Pest Management Association, Fairfax, Va. The NPMA is a non-profit organization with more than 7,000 members to support the pest management industry's commitment to the protection of public health, food and property.
As pest problems have been traced to some recent food contamination cases and with the implementation of the Food Safety and Modernization Act, it is more important than ever that facilities pay increased attention to the role of pest management in their overall operations programs.
