Agropur, a Canadian dairy cooperative, said itsSchroeder Companysubsidiary in Maplewood, Minn., purchasedFarmland Dairies'UHT milk processing plant in Grand Rapids, Mich. Terms were not disclosed.
"This most recent acquisition is a leading manufacturer and marketer of on-trend UHT and aseptic dairy products. It represents a great fit with our current operations and will allow us to keep building a strong foundation for continued growth," said Agropur CEO, Pierre Claprood.
Officials say Grand Rapids will be part of Schroeder Milk's operations and be managed by Schroeder President, Bob Kirchoff. Farmland Dairies produced its shelf-stable Parmalat and Lil' Milk brands at the Grand Rapids site. The operation processes and packages both UHT aseptic dairy and broth products.
Agropur is based in Longueuil, Quebec.
