Monterey Gourmet closing Oregon plant
To better optimize its production, refrigerated foods processor Monterey Gourmet Foods, Salinas, Calif., said it will close an Emerald Valley organic products plant in Eugene, Ore., and transfer production to a new facility in Kent, Wash.
The Emerald Valley plant in Eugene processes organic salsa, bean dips and hummus. The operation employs about 25 people.
