TheNational Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association(NFRA) will award 34 Gold Penguins in recognition of the best promotions for March National Frozen Food Month at the Grand Awards ceremony during NFRA’s convention in Washington, DC, October 20, 2009. The Golden Penguin Award symbolizes excellence in successful merchandising and promotion in the frozen food industry.

Judging was done by qualified marketing professionals from accredited colleges and universities during a two-day process at NFRA headquarters. Judges looked for the best creative effort which included use of the Frozen Foods – Fresh Ideas. Great Taste. logo/theme during a full 30-day program. Winning entries demonstrated the effective use of promotional elements such as in-store programs, advertising, consumer education, creative use of merchandising materials and special displays.
Golden Penguins will also be awarded for merchandising excellence during June Dairy Month and the June/July Ice Cream & Novelties display contest. For more information on any of the Golden Penguin Competitions, contact NFRA at (717) 657-6801.
