Case-ready meats processorVantage Foods Inc., Calgary, AB, said it purchased a building and 13-acre site in Belleville, Ont., to process retail ready fresh meats for supermarkets in eastern Canada. Officials said they expect to open the new case-ready service center in November with an initial group of about 150 employees.
Refrigerated and frozen soup and seafood products supplierBlount Fine Foods, Fall River, Mass., said it will add a second production line at its Warren, R.I. plant. Officials said Blount is expanding production of bulk-size chowders and soups at the 25,000-square-foot facility, although most of the project will involve new equipment and interior renovation work.
