Nueske’s tapped ESI Group, Hartland, Wis., to expand its Wittenberg, Wis., manufacturing headquarters facility.
“This 108,000-square-foot expansion will provide us with the space and equipment necessary to keep us on the leading edge of our business, all the while maintaining the superior quality and high standards we are best known for,” says Tanya Nueske, chief executive officer of Nueske’s. “We are committed to using our old-fashioned smoking methods and time-tested recipes that have been passed down through the generations to produce a product that is second to none.”
Nueske's Applewood Smoked Meats, founded in 1933 and now in its third generation of family ownership, will double its production capacity and create around 65 new jobs. The facility will also utilize additional energy saving systems, including a state-of-the-art ammonia refrigeration system, LED lighting with motion detection and vertical storing dock levelers. All products will continue to be shipped from and received on a refrigerated dock.
“ESI is excited about the opportunity to complete a process expansion of this complexity for Nueske’s in our home state of Wisconsin,” says Brad Barke, president of ESI. “It will feature the most stringent food safety features in the industry. ESI Group, also a family business, celebrates 25 years of service to the food and beverage industries in 2016. We understand first-hand how important it is to provide quality facilities for our clients to produce quality products that will ensure their businesses thrive.”
