After two years of research and development, Nature Fresh Farms has officially launched their 100% home compostable cucumber wrap, a first for the North American marketplace. Made from a starch-based PLA that is derived from plant-based resources, the film is home compostable breaking down naturally into CO2 and water within 90 days.

Bonduelle Fresh Americas, home of Ready Pac Foods, announced that it has joined Walmart in the groundbreaking "10x20x30" initiative to root out food loss and waste from the supply chain. 10x20x30 is led by Walmart and more than 10 of the world's biggest food retailers and providers, each having committed to engage at least 20 suppliers in a "whole supply chain" approach to cutting food loss and waste in half by 2030. Smithfield Foods became the first major protein company to commit to becoming carbon negative in all company-owned operations in the United States by 2030. A leader in sustainability for more than two decades, the company will go beyond carbon neutrality to effectively remove more carbon from the atmosphere than it emits. It will achieve this goal without purchasing carbon credits to offset emissions.
