The Kroger Co., Cincinnati, and The Kroger Co. Foundation partnered with ReFED, a multi-stakeholder, non-profit organization committed to reducing food waste in the United States.
Since LED technology is versatile, uses less energy compared to other lighting technologies and maintains safe illumination levels, it enables operations involved with refrigeration systems of any size to gain the benefits that the ever-improving LED lighting technology provides.
The first project developed under this partnership is a 1 MW solar array installed on 368,000 square feet of a 528,000-square-foot-cold storage industrial building in Oxnard, Calif.
