Advent International, a Boston, Mass.-based global private equity investor, and its newly formed company Sovos Brands, San Francisco, completed the acquisition of Michael Angelo's Gourmet Foods Inc.
Previous studies showed a link between purchasing frozen dinners and the desire to save time, but researchers also found a link between parents working more hours per week and choosing to purchase pre-packaged, processed meals.

Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), based in Bangkok, announced plans to acquire Minneapolis-based Bellisio Foods, Inc. from Centre Partners, New York, for $1.075 billion.
Lamb Weston’s portfolio will consist of frozen potato, sweet potato, appetizer and other vegetable products, as well as a continued presence in retail frozen products under licensed brands and private brands.

ConAgra Foods, Chicago, completed the previously announced separation of its Lamb Weston business, thus making the name change to Conagra Brands, Inc. effective immediately.
The new production facility will eventually employ more than 300 workers, and produce branded and private label products for club, retail, industrial and foodservice customers.
